Community Outpatient

intensive outpatient program (IOP) drug & alcohol treatment

overview

Recovery doesn’t happen by chance. It’s an ongoing process that begins after deciding enough is enough. Some people arrive at this decision with the help of friends or family, while others realize what their life could be like without drugs and alcohol running the show. No matter what path you took to get here, Choice House has your back.

Here, we help men build a solid foundation for lasting sobriety and find camaraderie, support and healing in the Rocky Mountains. We’re known throughout Colorado for our long-term programs and outdoor adventure therapies, but we also provide other options for men in different phases of their recovery journey, such as community intensive outpatient.

Our community IOP group is for those in Boulder county who want to explore their relationship with drugs or alcohol, release the underlying pain that keeps them stuck, and find support while continuing to maintain their daily responsibilities. It is one of only two gender-specific outpatient programs for men in the state and backed by our entire clinical team, making it a solid choice for anyone who wants to start living their life in recovery.

what is outpatient treatment?

Outpatient care is a treatment option for those struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and mental health concerns. It’s often designed for individuals who are graduating from an inpatient program but still want the support of a recovery community after they leave, but is also a good fit for professionals with busy lifestyles and the sober curious.

Choice House’s community intensive outpatient is for men in Boulder county who want to further their treatment or find a safe space to explore their issues with substance abuse. It utilizes the same therapists and modalities as our renowned long-term residential programming, delivered in a more flexible environment. Our community outpatient emphasizes men’s wellness, overcoming pain and trauma, building relationships and providing an experience that leads to a life of purpose.

While enrolled in our community outpatient program, clients can live off-site at home or in one of our enhanced sober living communities for men, located just blocks away from downtown Louisville near Boulder, Colorado. We’ve found that structured sober living provides clients with additional support as they start using the skills they’ve learned in the real world.

exploring wellness & recovery for men

While inpatient care is the cornerstone of many treatment programs, Choice House knows that life can get complicated. Some men aren’t sure if they’re ready to get sober, while others want to find support while being able to participate in their daily responsibilities.

Our community intensive outpatient program focuses on men’s wellness and recovery, but provides an ideal balance between structure, support and freedom. With a dual license, we can also help those with past trauma and co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety that keep them stuck in the cycle of substance abuse.

Because our outpatient facility is located in Louisville, Colorado, men within five to 15 miles of the nearby Boulder, Lafayette, Longmont, Broomfield, Westminster or Superior areas will benefit the most from this program. However, we can provide telehealth services for individuals who do not live in the immediate area to help them receive the care they need.

Choice House’s community IOP for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders consists of weekly individual and group therapy sessions that focus on men’s issues, substance abuse, mental health, trauma, relationships and intimacy, emotional regulation and more. The goal is to improve men’s wellness and help them address their issues with drugs or alcohol in a supportive environment so they can lead a healthy, purposeful life.

Clients in community outpatient may opt to live in our sober living community. We have 26 beds in 10 different sober living homes, where men can enjoy private rooms, a neighboring clubhouse and common areas that encourage camaraderie among residents. Our sober living community is also located near downtown Louisville, providing plenty of opportunities for shopping, recreation, entertainment, transportation and more. The sober living environment is structured to provide the right amount of support and guidance, but also lets clients strengthen their recovery as they learn how to deal with the stresses of daily life.

During therapy sessions, Choice House therapists apply multiple modalities to ensure better outcomes for clients with varied needs, goals and backgrounds. By combining these evidence-based techniques with the guidance of an experienced and compassionate staff, we provide a safe and supportive space for recovery and healing.
